Sotheby's is a British-founded American multinational corporation headquartered in New York City. One of the world's largest brokers of fine and decorative art, jewelry, real estate, and collectibles, Sotheby's operation is divided into three segments: auction, finance, and dealer. The company's services range from corporate art services to private sales. It is named after one of its cofounders, John Sotheby.

"If you start your career here as an intern and work your way up through the ranks and never work anywhere else, they will love you. Otherwise, they don't want to hear about your other experience or expertise. Management is only out for themselves and middle management throws wrenches left and right to puff themselves up and really don't care what the consequences are for their staff. Just avoid altogether."

The lack of culture and human empathy, the abundance of conspiracy, envy and greed are causing more and more poorly made decisions.You might think, "Hey, a job is a job. At least it's money." But you will soon find out that all of the sacrifice you make and possible humiliation the company would put you through are not worth the insulting salary they offer.Several staff members have extremely unprofessional behaviors which you might find unbelievable.you can tell people that you work for sotheby's.you can't tell your family how much you're making at sotheby's for what you do."

"Le travail est rythmé par les ventes organisées en novembre et en mai chaque année. Les périodes avant, pendant et après les ventes sont intenses et stimulantes. "Won a lot in Mid July. Sotheby's keep on delaying my shipment even week on week. If I didn't contact them for an update they would not reach out. I felt the entire process to be vert frustrating. It wasn't until I asked to speak to a higher person in charge of the Post Sale team that they jumped on the ball and sent my lot in September! Meanwhile at Christies, I purchased a lot at the same time and received a few weeks later. Poor service for the amount of money you are paying! Not even an apology at the end."
